A McDonald’s manager has been jailed for 10 years for raping a 14 year-old employee in his restaurant’s cooler.
Andrew Albertorio, 25, was sent to prison for a decade on Monday over the December 2018 sex attack at a McDonald’s in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
The girl told police how Albertorio began flirting with her over Snapchat shortly after she started working at his restaurant during the summer of 2018.
She said he would repeatedly discuss having sex with her, even though she was underage.
The youngster managed to resist Albertorio’s illegal advances by reminding him that he was her boss, and that he was also far older than her
But he ended up cornering her in the restaurant’s walk-in cooler one day, before touching the girl, pulling her pants down and raping her.
Albertorio went on to rape the teen in the cooler again, and also targeted her in the restaurant’s bathroom, his car and at his home, according to the Star Tribune.
Prosecutor Rachel Kraker asked sentencing Judge Jeannice Reading to jail Albertorio for a decade.
She cited Albertorio’s use of authority over the victim as an aggravating factor, InForum reported.
Judge Reading handed down a lighter sentence saying that Albertorio only had a ‘limited supervisory role’ over the girl.
She said there was ‘no predatory action’ and added that ‘there was some sense of a relationship on behalf of the suspect and the victim.’
Albertorio apologized to the child’s family before he was shipped off to prison.
