First Lady Melania Trump sleeps on a separate floor of the White House to her husband Donald, a new book claims.
Mrs Trump ‘prefers her own space,’ according to the unauthorized tome, called Free Melania, and has a large suite of rooms in the Washington DC address.
The book does not say why Mrs Trump doesn’t share a bed with her thrice-married husband, but the president has faced repeated allegations over his alleged infidelities.
He was rumored to have humiliated Mrs Trump when old claims about a 2006 one night stand with porn star Stormy Daniels resurfaced in early 2018.
Trump denied the fling, which would have taken place a year after he married Melania and shortly after she gave birth to their son Barron, now 13.
The president’s fixer Michael Cohen paid Daniels – real name Stephanie Clifford – $130,000 hush money in October 2016, shortly before Trump was elected to office.
President Trump also denied a longer affair with former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal she claims took place around the same time.At least one child killed as the Philippines is hit by another earthquake
Free Melania, which is released on Tuesday, goes on to claim that there are tensions between Mrs Trump and the president’s eldest daughter Ivanka.
It says Ivanka’s unprecedented position as both ‘First Daughter’ and special adviser to her father has caused clashes over the two women’s respective roles.
An excerpt from Free Melania obtained by CNN says there are ‘cracks in the facade of the sunny ties between the two women closest and most influential to the president.’
A White House spokesman insists Melania and Ivanka are ‘fine’ and ‘supportive of one another.’
Free Melania also shares the first lady’s alleged humiliation after she was caught stealing quotes from Michelle Obama in a speech to the 2016 Republican National Convention.
The book claims Mrs Trump was then underresourced, but that she felt guilty about the pressure put on the speechwriter – and for letting her husband down.
